What started in 1999 with six vintage sleds racing for bragging rights on a pond near New York Mills has exploded into the Regional One Lunger Association, LLC (R.O.L.A.) with many people actively involved today from Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Canada. R.O.L.A. is a vintage snowmobile club that consists of machines that are 1980 or older with single cylinder engines.
R.O.L.A. organizes races that are held in various cities in central Minnesota: Perham, New York Mills, Waconia, Detroit Lakes, and St. Cloud. The objective of R.O.L.A. is to preserve and restore vintage single cylinder snowmobiles while having fun racing and showing them off. R.O.L.A. now has eleven different classes of racing and the winners earn trophies and bragging rights and possibly the coveted year end "Points Champion R.O.L.A. trophy."
However, as with most associations there are various costs incurred such as insurance, legal fees, advertising and trophies. R.O.L.A. needs our sponsors to run the events for each season.
